PETERBOROUGH — Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders wishes to share that the ConVal School District is aware of and is working with police to address a potential threat made against ConVal Regional High School via social media.

ConVal officials were notified by parents, staff and students this morning of a potential threat directed toward ConVal Regional High School that was posted online. The District immediately engaged with the Peterborough Police Department, which is actively investigating. Peterborough Police are collaborating with their counterparts in Rocheport, Missouri, which also was mentioned in the posting. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was also made aware of the incident.

As a result of the investigation, which remains ongoing, there is no indication that the threat is credible. However, out of an abundance of caution, there was an increased police presence at all schools this morning at the district’s request.

“Whether they ultimately prove credible or not, we take any threat against the safety of our schools with the utmost seriousness,” Superintendent Saunders said. “I want to thank all of the members of the ConVal community who came forward with this information so that it could be addressed immediately.”
