PETERBOROUGH – Principal Heather McKillop is pleased to announce that ConVal High School earned statewide recognition for its collective sportsmanship during the last academic year.
ConVal was named as runner-up in the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association’s Sportsmanship Awards in Division II for the 2021-22 school year. A banner was presented to representatives from the school at the NHIAA’s annual meeting in Concord on Monday, Sept. 12, and will hang inside the school.
At the conclusion of each season, coaches rate their teams’ opponents – including coaches, players, fans and game managers – on their level of sportsmanship. Those rankings are then combined with other factors, like player or coach disqualifications, to determine each school’s sportsmanship rating.
The sportsmanship ratings are applied to every team a school fields.
“This recognition is a testament to our entire school community,” Principal McKillop said. “I am extremely proud of our student-athletes, coaches, fans, game managers and the ConVal community at-large, who each had a part to play in earning this prestigious recognition.”
