PETERBOROUGH — Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders is pleased to share that ConVal High School Careers in Education Teacher Sarah Grossi conducted two workshops at the Association for Career and Technical Education’s (ACTE) CareerTech VISION conference last month.

The professional development event took place from Dec. 1 to 4 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The conference was hybrid, with both virtual and on-site programming.

The topic of Grossi’s first workshop was “Universal Design for Learning and Assessment.” Throughout the presentation, Grossi shared resources and strategies that educators and administrators can use to create high-quality student assessments that align with ACTE’s Quality Career and Technical Education Program of Study Framework.

The topic of the second workshop was “Designing and Implementing Highly Effective Work-Based Learning and Clinical Internship Experiences.” During this workshop, Grossi outlined a framework for designing, creating and implementing work-based learning and clinical internship experiences that maximize student success.

Additionally, Grossi serves as ACTE’s New and Related Services (NRS) Awards Chair. She presented awards during the NRS Opening Session and Awards Ceremony.

“I am so pleased to have had the honor of presenting at this convention,” Grossi said. “Not only was I able to share my own experience, but I was able to learn valuable new insights from so many talented educators. This event is a great way for educators to share knowledge in order to ensure that career technical education students from across the nation are set up for success.”
