PETERBOROUGH — Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders and the Conval Regional School District are pleased to share that U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan and local business leaders recently visited the District to learn more about its career technical education program.

The group toured Region 14 Applied Technology Center at ConVal Regional High School, which serves students in the ConVal, Jaffrey-Rindge, and Mascenic Regional school districts. The Center offers quality programming and instruction in business, engineering, teacher education, digital photography and videography, graphics and web design, computer networking and programming, and woodworking.

Sen. Hassan was joined on March 10 by Richard Scheinblum, Chief Financial Officer, Monadnock Community Hospital; Rivermead CEO Lara Shea; Lauren Judd, Executive Director of Cornucopia Project; and Bill Farr, Divisional Training Manager for New Hampshire Ball Bearings, Inc.

Attendees met with Superintendent Rizzo Saunders, Principal Heather McKillop, Center Director Jennifer Kiley, students, and faculty, learning more about the Center’s educational programs and its partnerships with local industry. Sen. Hassan also met with the business leaders to learn how she can better support career technical education and help businesses meet the demands in fast-growing fields.

“Thank you to Sen. Hassan and our business community for taking the time to learn more about what we do,” Superintendent Rizzo Saunders said. “The Applied Technology Center seeks to give students the skills they need to be successful in their careers and lives. This will make them highly sought-after for high-paying jobs in high-demand sectors.”
