PETERBOROUGH – Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders and Principal Heather McKillop would like to share that ConVal High School recently hosted the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) NH Community Leadership Workshop (CLeW).

The workshop was hosted for students across New Hampshire who are a part of the HOBY Program. Over 35 student ambassadors from over 15 school districts attended the workshop, including two students from ConVal High School.

During the workshop, students participated in team-building exercises, group discussions, and action planning to create obtainable goals that can be implemented throughout each school.

ConVal students who participate in the program practice their leadership skills through community engagement. After the workshop, students are tasked with completing over 100 hours of community service as a pledge to put their leadership skills into action.

The purpose of the program is to help guide and inform Grade 9 students about leadership and further develop their leadership skills to provide an educational foundation on how to be a leader within their community.

“This program is a great opportunity for students to practice their leadership skills and collaborate with other students across New Hampshire,” said Principal McKillop. “These foundational skills give students the confidence to work with their peers and be a leading voice within their community.”
