ConVal School DistrictPETERBOROUGH — Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Rizzo Saunders and School Board Chair Janine Lesser wish to inform the public about ConVal School District’s proposed gross budget of $56,106,282. The gross budget includes all grants, special revenue funds, and the operating, which is $53,819,282.

As approved at School District Deliberative Session, the operating budget represents an increase of $718,247, or 1.35 percent, over the 2022-2023 spending plan. This minimal increase is an incredible accomplishment in a significant inflationary period.

The 2023-2024 budget reflects the District’s commitment to excellence in education based on a number of criteria, including: essentials for all students, a safe and comfortable learning environment, healthy and safe physical plants, curricular and extracurricular opportunities,  resources to support students, offering students multiple pathways to learning and success, and supporting faculty and staff through professional development.

A community forum dedicated to the budget will take place on March 6 in the Lucy Hurlin Theatre at ConVal High School.  The forum begins at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a meet and greet with School Board members.

The budget and warrant articles will be voted upon by residents in ConVal’s member towns – Antrim, Bennington, Dublin, Francestown, Greenfield, Hancock, Peterborough, Sharon and Temple – on Tuesday, March 14.
