The event was held on Thursday, Aug. 26 at 6 p.m., outside the ConVal McGuire Gymnasium. About 100 people attended.
The event began with opening remarks from Principal McKillop, and was followed by introductions of school staff, including Assistant Principal Carol Young, who works with students whose last names begin with the letters A-K, and Assistant Principal Steve Bartsch, who works with students whose last names start with L-Z.
Director of School Counseling Terri Drogue, School Counselors Rachel Berten, Amanda Haley and Rebecca Dunn, Student Support Counselors Todd Bennet and Nikki Pike, as well as 504 Interventionist Michael Hightower, also were introduced.
After introductions, attendees had the opportunity to chat with their respective school counselor and assistant principal and other staff members who were present. Attendees also enjoyed complimentary shaved ice from Kona Ice Truck.
“This was a great way for our incoming students to become acquainted with the staff here at ConVal High School. We truly enjoyed meeting all of the new students and families who attended,” said Principal McKillop. “I am eager and ready to welcome our students back to school this Tuesday. The building doesn’t feel alive without them.”
