Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders and Principal Adam Caragher are pleased to share that Great Brook Middle School students participated in workshops led by retired Kearsarge Regional School District Administrator Percy Hill to help students better understand their impact on others.

Throughout the week of Sept. 25-28, each grade level met with Hill in the Bobcat Room to learn about and practice the four main themes of kindness, respect, positivity, and empathy. Students participated in a variety of activities as they learned about practical ways to help make GBS a welcoming place to learn.

The event was designed to reinforce the core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Safety.

During the workshops, students practiced teamwork by working in small groups to build a cup tower, shared positive observations, practiced offering a helping hand, and shared smiles with one another. The workshops presented a multitude of opportunities to help them understand the impact of their words and actions.

“This special event helped and encouraged our students to continue to develop positive skills that impact the GBS community as a whole. We always strive to promote the idea that helping others, even through a simple smile, can make all the difference and turn a bad day into a good day,” said Principal Caragher. “Thank you so much to Percy Hill for hosting these workshops, our students had a wonderful time and no doubt benefited from his mentorship.”

This event was sponsored through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) grant funds.
