TEMPLE 一 Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders and Principal Timothy Iwanowicz are pleased to share that Temple Elementary School is participating in a book and pajama drive this December.
Temple Elementary is holding the book and pajama drive through Dec. 15.
Students collected books and new pajamas during school to help benefit The Pajama Program. The Pajama Program is a non-profit organization that distributes new books and pajamas across the U.S. to children who may be facing a variety of challenges.
The goal of the drive was to help students understand that offering time and resources to others can help individuals and communities thrive.
“At Temple Elementary we are committed to teaching our children that they are part of a larger community and helping others is an essential part of living in a community, no matter what the size,” said Principal Iwanowicz. “This drive has been a wonderful way to bring our community together and collect items for those who may need them this holiday season.”
This year Temple Elementary focused on a variety of community engagement projects with a special emphasis on giving back to others. Some other projects included participating in the Temple Harvest Festival, hosting elderly residents for the 48th Annual Thanksgiving Feast, and inviting community members to join the school every first Friday for lunch, laughter, and conversation.
