PETERBOROUGH — Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders wishes to invite members of the community to a special event celebrating the life of Great Brook School Assistant Principal Lexy Heatley.
On Saturday, Sept. 17, at 8:45 a.m., the ConVal community will gather for a short ceremony to honor and remember Heatley, who passed away this summer after a battle with cancer. The ceremony will be held at the main entrance of Great Brook School, 16 School St., Antrim.
In her memory, a magnolia tree will be planted outside the main entrance to the school, and all who attend the ceremony will be invited to place a rock around the base of the tree.
“Lexy was a deeply beloved member of our school community and we are all greatly affected by her loss,” Great Brook School Principal Kat Foecking said. “This tribute will serve as a daily reminder of her presence and the time our staff and students enjoyed spending with her.”
Heatley came to ConVal in 2010 as a Title I teacher and later as a special educator at Great Brook School, and had served as the school’s Assistant Principal for the last three years.
