Dublin Consolidated School students and staff started the school year with strong sense of school community.

On Wednesday, Aug. 30, students exited buses and cars with a smile as they arrived for their first day back.

The day kicked off with the school’s first morning Walking Club meeting in the gymnasium, where students and staff reconnected with old friends and made new ones.

Students then entered their classrooms to participate in a Welcome Back Morning Meeting, where they began to think about their hopes and aspirations for the school year.

“Our school knows the importance of community, and we begin building that from the start of each day,” said Principal Nicole Pease. “The morning Walking Club and the Welcome Back Meetings lay the foundation for a very connected community at DCS. Students and staff are overjoyed with the start to the school year and we look forward to making wonderful memories and growing academically.”

“Students and staff at DCS are role models when it comes to building a strong community. Our district values creating spaces of shared learning and inclusivity,” said Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders, “and DCS goes above and beyond to do just that!”
