ANTRIM — Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders and Principal Beth Gibney are pleased to share that Monadnock Roller Derby partnered with Antrim Elementary PTO for Punk Rock Skate Night.
Over 225 people were in attendance for the Punk Rock-themed Skate Night in support of the Antrim Elementary PTO.
The event was held on March 9 at Greenfield Elementary School and was open to all Antrim students, parents, and staff.
Students skated around the gym with the help of volunteers and AES Grade 4 teacher and derby member Ana Beaumont. Students were also encouraged to dress up in costumes for a chance to win prizes.
The event raised over $1,300, and funding will go toward supporting an arts residence for AES students. This was the first time AES partnered with Monadnock Roller Derby to raise funds for the PTO.
“On behalf of the Antrim School community, I would like to thank the Monadnock Roller Derby for partnering with the Antrim PTO for this wonderful event,” said Principal Gibney. “It was wonderful to see students and parents participate in a night of smiles, laughs, and skating.”
Monadnock Roller Derby holds a public skate night every month, in support of a different charity or organization. Each event has a theme and is which is open to skaters of all levels and ages.
