GREENFIELD — Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders and Principal Shawne Hilliard are delighted to share that students in Grades 1-4 at Greenfield Elementary School explored all things science and history during a day-long field trip to the SEE Science Center and the Manchester Historic Association’s Millyards Museum.

On the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 31, 55 GES students traveled to Manchester to explore the SEE Science Center.

At SEE, students had the opportunity to view a special science demonstration which included an air cannon, some simple machines and the Van de Graaff generator.

After lunch, students visited the Millyard Museum to learn about the history of New Hampshire. Students partnered up for a scavenger hunt and explored some hands-on activities. They enjoyed carding wool and sorting cards to demonstrate the process of using water to generate energy.

“The students had an amazing time exploring the museums of Manchester,” said Principal Hilliard. “These enriching experiences are so important to enable our students to see other places, think about potential careers, learn more about topics and just have fun!”

Superintendent Saunders and Principal Hilliard wish to thank the Greenfield Elementary School PTO for providing funding for Millyard Museum admission, and the SEE Science Center for waiving admission.
